Safe Harbor Consults

Do you have a question or concern about an ethical or compliance issue but aren't sure where to turn?  Not sure if something violates policy or needs to be reported? Don’t know if reporting through the Trust Line or another channel is the best next step?

A Safe Harbor consult could help.

Emory’s Safe Harbor Program allows University employees to raise ethical and compliance concerns in a supportive and confidential* environment intended to answer questions and support ethical decision-making.

You can learn how to find more information about relevant rules and policies and what the options are for next steps.  You may even ask hypothetical ("what if?") questions about compliance topics.

The discussion may be conducted in person, at a location where you feel most comfortable, or by telephone. The consultants do not keep records of these discussions.

*Please note that the Safe Harbor consultants are required by law to report the abuse or neglect of a child, an elder, or a disabled adult if it’s disclosed during the discussion.
